Peer review policy
Double-blind review: Both authors and reviewers will remain anonymous to each other. Proposed articles will be reviewed by two experts in the field, who will provide independent evaluations. If there is a disagreement between reviewers, a third reviewer will be consulted to resolve the issue.
Evaluation criteria: Reviewers will assess various factors, including the relevance and timeliness of the research topic, contribution to knowledge, conceptual strength, familiarity with the literature, methodological rigor, and the significance of the discussion and conclusions drawn. Reviewers are required to provide their opinions using the format established by Concordia
Confidentiality: Concordia ensures the confidentiality of information relating to authors and reviewers by restricting the sharing of details and outcomes from the review process to those directly involved (authors, reviewers, and editors). Authors are advised to avoid excessive self-citation and revealing any information in the text that could hint at their identity.
Evaluation timeline: The review process, which includes the request of reviewers, securing their agreement to participate, and gathering their evaluations, generally takes between six to twelve months. However, this duration may fluctuate, becoming shorter or longer depending on factors like the availability of reviewers, the complexity of the submission, or other circumstances that could impact the pace of the process.
Editorial decision: Concordia will notify authors officially about their article only after a decision has been reached regarding its acceptance without changes, acceptance with minor or major revisions, or rejection.
Correction process: If evaluations suggest that adjustments are necessary, authors will have three to five weeks to implement the reviewers' suggestions. The revised manuscript must include an anonymous response letter addressed to each reviewer, explaining the changes made in response to their feedback.
